REGULAR ACTIVIES
Our parish has activities for children of varying age groups. You are welcome to join any activity without any registration. All the activities are located downstairs in the Youth Offices’ premises (Kirkkokatu 32).
Weekly activities for children
Tuesday
Childrens’ multi-function club for elementary school students and a tad younger children. Meetings from 18 to 19.30. Due to little amount of attendants, doesn’t gather anymore in 2022. Starts again in Spring 2023, follow our Facebook pages and News!
Thursday
Childrens’ multi-function club for elementary school students and a tad younger children. Meetings from 18 to 19.30.
Friday
Family club for children with a parent. Meetings from 9 to 12. Easy going, relaxed time together with other families.
Sunday
Liturgy club from 9.45 to 10.45 for children. After the club children are brought back to their parents in the church.
Weekly activities for youth
Icon painting for young people
Tuesdays from 18 to 20.30. NOTICE: a possible payment for used materials. Icon painting group is meant for people aged 14 and above. You will learn the basics of icon painting and can develop your skills as a painter.
Youth club NuPi
NuPi is menat for middle school students and it meets twice a month on thursdays. Check the dates and other info on our Instagram: joensuun_ortodoksinen_nuoriso !
Young adults evenings
On Fridays approximately once a month from 18 to 20 at the Parish Hall. Tea, snacks and conversation with other young people. Next times: 18.11. and 2.12.
Youth singing Saturdays
Youth singing Saturdays for young people aged 12-18. We meet once a month from 11 to 13. Next dates are 18.11. and 2.12. We sing orthodox choral music and lighter music. Welcome to sing with us!
CAMPS
Children’s camps
We organize camps for children during the school holidays. Camps are held at our own camp center in Sikrenvaara, Eno. At camps we play games, do different kind of activities and join services. Language on the camps is Finnish, but there is always also someone who speaks Russian. All the personel speaks English.

Christianity camp for young people
Young people who turn to 15 on that year are offered an option to join a christianity camp, where they can learn more about orthodox faith and practice it every day in services and demonstrations for example about weddings and funerals. Young people who are members of our parish will get a letter about the coming Summer’s camp at the end of the previous year.
Weekend camps for youth
Do you want to spend weekend with other young people and have a good time in camp center Sikrenvaara? Welcome to our weekends for young people! Lot of fun, good food and services.

Education for youth
The parish organizes different types of short courses for young people. We offer weekend courses for young people who want to be young camp instructers and also some short courses of first aid and water life saving. For more information please contact our youth team (above).
